A businessman has alleged that a group of masked men forcibly entered his office in Dhaka’s Motijheel area, vandalized property, assaulted him and issued threats against him and his family, according to a complaint filed in connection with the incident.
Abul Faisal, proprietor of Messrs. Trade Fair, said the incident took place after he arrived at his Motijheel office on June 12. According to his account, a group of unidentified masked individuals blocked his way and forced their way into the office.
The attackers allegedly damaged office property and intimidated employees, compelling them to leave the premises. Faisal said the group subsequently assaulted him inside the office, leaving him injured in several parts of his body, including his right leg.
According to the complaint, the attackers also ordered Faisal to leave Bangladesh immediately and warned him against maintaining contact with an individual identified as Mochanaf. He alleged that the men threatened him and his family with serious consequences if he failed to comply with their demands.
Faisal said he was unable to identify the attackers because they were wearing masks. However, he alleged that their manner of speaking and conduct, together with information he received after the incident, led him to suspect that they may have been associated with individuals linked to a person identified as Bakaul.
The complaint describes Bakaul as an influential figure allegedly connected to senior leaders and other influential individuals associated with both Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Following the alleged attack, Faisal reportedly expressed concerns for his personal safety and the security of his family. He also said the incident had disrupted his business activities and left him apprehensive about the possibility of further attacks.
